Sounds of Summer Giveaway

From July 1 through August 5, Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville will present “Sounds of Summer: New Music Documentaries,” a music festival film series. They will screen 16 new and classic documentaries on everything from soul to indie rock and Steve Reich to Glenn Gould. There’ll also be a terrific new film focusing on the resurgence of the ukulele and a multimedia presentation that offers a look at the revolutionary recording techniques the Beatles used for “Strawberry Fields Forever,” “Penny Lane,” and “A Day in the Life,” including early takes of these classic songs. The series features many films that fall under an eclectic range of musical genres and styles. To see the complete list of films and schedule, please visit www.burnsfilmcenter.org.
