Sounds of Summer Giveaway

From July 1 through August 5, Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville will present “Sounds of Summer: New Music Documentaries,” a music festival film series. They will screen 16 new and classic documentaries on everything from soul to indie rock and Steve Reich to Glenn Gould. There’ll also be a terrific new film focusing on the resurgence of the ukulele and a multimedia presentation that offers a look at the revolutionary recording techniques the Beatles used for “Strawberry Fields Forever,” “Penny Lane,” and “A Day in the Life,” including early takes of these classic songs.
