Hilarious Rom-Com Proves Old Dogs Can Learn New Tricks

NY Times best-selling author Steve Alten has written a laugh-out-loud novel called, DOG TRAINING THE AMERICAN MALE… inspired by an argument he had years ago with his wife:

“I had no idea a simple innocent statement had become so misunderstood. It’s like I was playing checkers and my wife was playing 3-dimensional chess. Then, in the middle of our argument, my wife yelled at my dog… and the dog obeyed her command!
“How is it that the dog understood my wife but I remained completely befuddled?
“So I started to think about it. The dog understood commands because it was trained. And then I realized that men and dogs have a lot in common, beginning with the fact that we’re both simple creatures AND WE LIKE IT THAT WAY.
“Look at the similarities and you’ll realize why men and dogs are best friends.  When we’re pups we both love to play ball. We have no problem with peeing on a tree.  We take pride in stupid things… like our bowel movements. What guy hasn’t launched a perfect torpedo and gave it a good look before he flushed. Do you think a woman would ever do that?    Dogs howl when they’re happy, men howl when our team scores a touchdown.   Dogs and men are always getting yelled at for innocently dragging mud in the house, or occasionally humping the wife’s leg when she’s not in the mood.
“Since a dog can be trained and men are like dogs… then a man can in fact be trained.     “But what if a woman attempted to train her man.. without him knowing…”
