Life on the Stage
Join us for a celebration of Broadway’s breathtaking new revival of landmark play Children of a Lesser God. Premiering in 1980, the play, and the 1986 Oscar-winning film adaptation, put forward the question: how can we truly communicate? Following a screening of the film, starring Marlee Matlin and William Hurt, Tony Award-winning director Kenny Leon (A Raisin in the Sun, Fences) will join Tony Award-winning producer Hal Luftig (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Golden Globe-winning actor Anthony Edwards (NBC’s ER), actress Kecia Lewis (Marie and Rosetta) and actor John McGinty (Wonderstruck) in a conversation moderated by four-time Tony-winning Broadway producer Dori Berinstein about the revelatory production’s decades-long journey from stage, to screen, and back to stage again!
