Beginning October 1, 2017, Lisa Cohen’s fine art photography featuring American’s treasured horses both wild and domesticated will be featured at the WPA Gallery. Cohen travels throughout the American countryside, deserts and beaches photographing wild mustangs, feral horses and domesticated saddle horses to “tell their story” and capture their grace, power and vulnerability.
Her work has drawn recognition from collectors and interior design professionals across the country for it’s rugged yet classical beauty. She gives an up close and personal view of the bonds that form between these majestic creatures.
Often large in scale, her work evokes a sense of “being there” not felt by many. Notable for conveying movement, fury and subtle romance her images stir up a unique sense of emotion in horse lovers and those unfamiliar with horses alike.
Cohen typically uses black and white photography with undertones of warmth, dramatic contrasts and existing light in the horse’s natural environment to capture the untamed moments that reveal the beauty of the equine spirit.
“Untamed” The American Horse Collection will be on exhibit from October 1 through November 12, 2017. Opening reception to be held on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 12:00-4:00pm.
