LaRoy Warner, Greenwich based certified personal trainer and nutritionist, launches the 2018 Iron Camp Challenge with Hybrid Media and Starr Films. In June, Warner opened Iron Camp, a personal training studio at 55 Old Post Road 2 in Greenwich. The state of the art facility is equipped with the latest strength training equipment and weightlifting gear designed for professional athletes and top-tier military operators. Warner provides one-on-one personal training, small group training, and nutrition consults complete with meal plans. In January, Warner will invite five hand-selected individuals to participate in the Challenge at no cost if they can commit to achieving their personal health and fitness goals over an eight-week period. Starr Films (starr-films.com) will document the Challenge from the beginning until the end with plans to screen edited content in March during the finale celebration. Anyone interested in participating can visit Iron Camp online (theironcamp.com) to apply, the deadline for submissions is Monday, November 27. Participants who can not complete the Iron Camp Challenge will be charged for the classes they miss.

“This Challenge is for anyone who wants to push themselves to reach and exceed the best personal fitness and nutrition they are capable of”, said Warner. He continued, “I will also challenge myself to work with a diverse group of clients ranging in various levels of ability to demonstrate that strength training is for everyone. I want this program to be open to all who live in the Greenwich community so there is no cost for those who make the commitment to complete the Challenge. By the end of this program, we will be able to look back to where we started with the help of my friends, Angelique Adelina and Joe Capozzi at Starr Films.” Warner will begin to review applications, submitted through the Iron Camp website, at the end of November and will personally select a diverse group of participants to complete his small group training program over the course of eight weeks. The program will start in early January and include customized meal plans and nutrition guidelines. In addition, all participants will be provided with Iron Camp gear and be required to share their experience.

“Joe and I are so excited to start capturing this program for LaRoy and his small group class”, said Adelina. She continued, “Our passion is storytelling and we recently launched our media division to help businesses and brands do just that. During this process, I hope to see everyone involved push themselves past what they think they’re capable of and really inspire viewers to give it their 100 percent. I know from personal experience that physical and health fitness goals are hard to meet but with LaRoy’s help I know it is attainable.” Adelina launched Starr Films in 2008 and has directed/produced over twenty short films serving as executive producer on dozens more. Capozzi is an Executive Editor/Writer at Starr Films and is the playwright and producer of For Pete’s Sake his autobiographical play.  He started out as an actor appearing in numerous TV/Film/Stage productions such as; TV’s Law & Order, All My Children, As the World Turns, the feature film West End and the Off-Broadway production of Nelson Rodrigues’s Asphalt Kiss.

Throughout the Challenge, LaRoy plans to take a creative approach to training and encourage participants to ask “why?” during each training session. “Being able to educate during the process is one of my favorite aspects of one-on-one or small group training”, said Warner. He continued, “What I love most is that I am able to inspire and be inspired by my clients on a daily basis.” During the strength program, Warner will focus on bodybuilding with a goal to help clients look good and feel strong.  Please visit Iron Camp online for more information and for the Iron Camp Challenge application (theironcamp.com).
