At age 27, with a newborn baby girl, Ashley became a food stamp recipient. She moved to New York City in 2011 for a new beginning and worked as a business manager in the fashion industry. Three years after breaking out and making it in the Big Apple and the fashion industry, Ashley decided to venture where her heart was: helping others understand the strong connection food has on our lives. Thus, arrived the inspiration of Farmbox Direct – bringing the goodness one step closer to you.

Farmbox Direct seeks to promote the concept of eating clean food to nourish and fulfill your body.

“I started Farmbox Direct with a vision of how food should be which is why my goal is to bring the farmers market in its best purity to customer’s doors,” says Ashley Tyrner, Farmbox Direct’s founder and CEO. “

Having been raised on a farm and brought up by a family of farmers in the Midwest, Tyrner came to understand how much care should go into the food we eat by those who grow it. After becoming a single mother with a new career in fashion, and living off food stamps while she got back on her feet, and became even more cautious about what she bought and ate and what she fed my daughter. She knew there was a market for what she needed and it was my job to bring fresh, organic produce to people’s doorsteps.

I am fortunate enough to personally engage every farmer, artisan, and vendor we work with – and if they’re not local or organic, then we won’t carry their produce.” She added, “I want to make real, nutritious food a given in the diet of every American. By eating by the seasons, we are eating foods when they are at their peak taste, are the most abundant, and the least expensive. I want to lower the negative connotations of organic produce, and showcase the many health benefits of a fresh diet. I want to draw the ‘you are what you eat’ connection even closer to everyone I deliver to, one box at a time.”

Farmbox Direct offers three different size boxes ranging from $36.95 – $58.95 and ships nationwide. Setup a monthly delivery of organic in season produce including recipes.
