South Beach Comes to Westchester for One Night Only NBC’s Kate Snow Will Emcee Friends of Karen’s Spring Gala

Think “Miami Vice” meets “La Cage Aux Folles.” Friends of Karen, a children’s charity, presents its gala benefit “South Beach Comes To Life!” on Saturday, May 5th, 7:30pm-12:30am at LIFE…The Place To Be (Ardsley, NY). Back by popular demand is Dr. K’s Motown Revue band. Returning as emcee is NBC Correspondent Kate Snow. The evening will honor Jacqueline Holtzer and Jackie Holzinger, residents of North Salem and dedicated volunteers at the charity. And there will be lots of surprises!

“Friends of Karen provides great support to so many people,” says Ms. Snow. “I’ve seen it myself. They keep a family’s life as normal as possible under very abnormal circumstances. They truly know how to change lives.”

Proceeds from the gala will benefit the hundreds of critically-ill children and their families in the tri-state area who turn to Friends of Karen for help every day. Since 1978, Friends of Karen has been making life as manageable as possible for these families, providing the emotional, financial and advocacy support that keeps families together and stable as they navigate the devastating world of childhood cancer.
