I am Loving Lauren Takes Leave

Posted By Stacy on

In case you’ve missed my recent tweets, my new favorite book is Lauren Takes Leave  by Scarsdale resident Julie Gerstenblatt.  I’m telling everyone about it, even the ladies I met on a recent cruise along the French and Italian Riviera.  This humorous novel is about women like me, suburban wives and mothers who may feel a little bit stuck in a predictable routine and who fantasize about breaking out of their conventional lives and taking some risks.  Lauren Worthing and her fun and crazy friends Kat and Jodi (I love Jodi!) do just that.  Over the course of a week, middle school teacher Lauren flirts with danger, meets handsome strangers, parties to excess, and finds herself in hysterical situations.  I actually laughed out loud while reading it and couldn’t put it down.

    • Julie Gerstenblatt is a blogger for The Huffington Post, and I first came across her writing when I found out about a hilarious article she had written about Fifty Shades of Grey.  I ended up quoting some of that piece on Stacyknows.com, and then met Julie at a luncheon with E.L. James.  When she told me about her novel, I thought it sounded great.  But, until I started reading Lauren Takes Leave , I didn’t know how much I’d feel like the book was written for me and for all my friends.  Trust me: you’ll feel like you know the characters, with all their good and bad habits.  (Like shopping at Neiman Marcus and not telling their husbands about purchases, for starters!)

And that’s why I’m so excited to tell you about a great giveaway I’m running.  When you follow the steps below, you will be entered to win a FREE SIGNED COPY of Lauren Takes Leave.
