Costner, well known for his Academy Award performances in films like Dances with Wolves, Field of Dreams and Bull Durham…now takes front and center of a rocking country western band that has played a multitude of sold out shows.

Kevin’s band, Modern West, is quickly gaining more and more fans — he takes care of his new adorers too! Costner believes that even casual come-and-goers can get in on the fun as Modern West’s performances are “loosey-goosey” and entertaining.

On March 28, The Bodyguard will be re-released as well. Costner is interested to see how folks will react to the film now that Whitney Houston is gone.

With his band, Modern West, Oscar-winning actor Kevin Costner (Field of Dreams, Dances with Wolves, The Bodyguard) makes music that is rough-edged, honest and true. “Truth be told, Kevin Costner and Modern West does not sound like a movie star’s vanity project. Costner sings about freight trains, dusty avenues and broken dreams…in faded jeans, he commands the stage with the same understated sex appeal he has on the big screen” (CNN). The band was born from a shared love of music and comprised of a tight-knit group of longtime friends, Kevin Costner and Modern West draw their influences from a broad tapestry of American music and beyond. The show itself flows from original material penned by the band to cover songs written by some of music’s giants.

Costner will produce and star in the upcoming miniseries “Hatfields & McCoys”, which will premiere Memorial Day weekend on the History Channel. He and Modern West also handled the film’s music production. “The band wrote all the music for behind the scenes and the documentary, “ he said in a recent interview with Billboard. “Out of that, we’re putting together a concept record which deals with that era, and it’s pretty cool! We’ll call it ‘Famous For Killing Each Other, ‘ and it will come out a couple of weeks before the miniseries comes out.”
