How to Throw a Rocking Birthday Party

Who says you have to schlep to NYC to have a rocking birthday party this year? With the right tips, you have everything you need locally in Westchester County to throw the best birthday bash ever for your next party. For Kris Ruby’s 25^th (Public Relations Agency Ruby Media Group) we threw her a surprise party at Restaurant North in Armonk. Here is what you need to make the party a success.

A party organizer-

This person will be the lead on all things party related, including reservations, guest RSVP’s, cake and surprise details!

A customized cake- who wants a boring cake when you can get a customized cake for the Birthday girls big bash? For Kris’ Birthday, Patty Palmieri (of LV2BFIT) went to Beascakes Bakery and had a customized laptop created for the social media queen herself. After all, you can hear her tiny fingers typing from miles away. Beascakes actually recreated Ruby’s entire laptop- with the mac logo and everything. It was beyond adorable.

Presents! Find out what the Birthday girl wants ahead of time, and then send your friends back to get it. Or you can even use an online wish list! We splurged on some beautiful earrings from LV2BFIT that Kris had tried on, so we knew she would love them!
Senator- No Birthday party is complete without a Senator in attendance. For Kris’ Birthday, we dined with no other then New York State Senator Greg Ball. What a great way to ring in your 25th!

Miss Westchester- Having a beauty pageant winner at the table is an absolute must. We had the pleasure of sharing conversation with the one and only Miss Westchester 2011 Christina De Leon. Conversations were abuzz!

Photographer-

What is the point of a Birthday bash unless there are photos to show all the fun post party? We were lucky to have our very own Jim D’ Angelo (of Jim D’Angelo Photography) in attendance at the party. He took all of our wonderful photos all night long. Having a personalized photographer at the table is an absolute must have.

Drinks! What better way to start out a birthday bash then with a round of champagne? Thanks to Dominick and Holly DioGuardi, we started out Kris’ Birthday just like that! Thanks Dom & Holly!

Tweeter- Smart phone alert! When everyone at your party has a twitter handle you know there is going to be some social media live coverage. Twitpics, check in’s and tweets galore!
