50 Shades of Grey Luncheon Recap and a Giveaway

Posted by Stacy

If you are one of the few, who hasn’t read the  Fifty Shades Trilogy

yet,  then you might or might not be interested, in this post . Heck, you probably aren’t reading Stacyknows.com either.   I think this is my 6th post at the 50 Shades trilogy. In fact, when my readers heard there was a luncheon in Westchester, they just assumed I was the hostess.

Fifty Shades  has become a viral phenomenon. A self published novel , originally fan fiction,(fiction written by fans of an original series without actually being a part of it)  based on the characters in the Twilight series.

The book  is a love story, written from the view of college student Anastasia Steele, who falls for Christian Grey, a character with a proclivity for S and M.

50 Shades Luncheon With EL James

The event was hosted by Lyss Stern, whose company, Divalysscious Moms, “is New York City’s premier socializing network for fabulous moms… think Sex and the City meets Mommy and Me.” The company has been hosting parties of all sorts since 2003, but recently started sponsoring book club events. As   Lyss Stern of Divamoms.com said 50 Shades had “ tied women together… and you, the women, were the rope.” She described our “evolution from the sandbox to the red room of pain,” and said that E L James’ writing was “putting women everywhere into a breathless, orgasmic coma.” She told us that these books had let us realize that “it’s okay to admit that we want our needs satisfied.” Ultimately, she thanked James for “writing a book that was a community service to women… and men!”

Elyssa Stern and her Christian Grey

E. L. James was WONDERFUL though. E stands for Erika, she wouldn’t tell us what L stands for, so you can just imagine.

I fell in love with her when I saw her on the 20/20 interview a few weeks ago, she is such a normal person.

The author told the women at the luncheon that she’s glad the book is bringing them together to talk about things they don’t normally discuss.

Someone asked  and we all wanted to know “Did you write this from  experience?”   She said she  did have one “inappropriate relationship” when she was young, although she would not elaborate on the nature of the impropriety.

More importantly, she answered a question I really cared about “What should we read next?”

Gabriel’s Inferno

She spoke like an average woman who fell into success and is still a relatively normal person.  She made us laugh and cheer and 30 minutes  of Q and A went by in a flash.    For a woman who was at the end of her book tour, she was friendly and gracious while signing books.

The event was sponsored by Joy of Moi intimate accessories. Company owner Jaclyn Colman was offering demonstrations…

and desires for women, men

So the Fifty Shades Trilogy  has been/is being banned from many libraries across the country because it’s considered porn….

You are in luck. I bought the trilogy and had them signed by E.L. James herself.   I might kick myself later, but I want you to have them.  Follow the instructions below and the trilogy is yours.
