Stacyknows…about the Professional Children’s School catering to exceptional children who are following careers!
Young Chef Greg Grossman who started his love for everything culinary while attending Ross School in the Hamptons, now attends the Professional Children’s School in NYC. They support young people with a solid academic education while coordinating the pressures of scheduling in their professional careers. They ‘partner’ with professional children providing them with support and flexible schedules, providing them with an excellent staff that supports them in maneuvering around the stresses and scheduling of their professional and school lives.
Since mentioning this school in a write up a few months ago about Southampton Arts Festival event in NYC, where Greg and Chef Will Horowitz prepared the amazing food and besides the amazing evening of classical master musicians, PCS students Jonathan Russell, and Ramin Abrams wowed the crowd at cocktail hour. Stacyknows also heard from friends who attended Greg’s Sanctuary pop art dinner, amazed at how far our young Hampton’s friend has come since catering benefits and art galleries. Since then, we realize that families and friends of StacyKnows might like to know a bit about this school.
Founded in 1914, The Professional Children’s School is one of the few schools in NYC that provides a challenging academic education for young people working in or studying full time careers outside of their academic education. In Greg’s case, working with charities and in the food industry we know that work and following his culinary dreams take him away from school. Stacyknows that Greg started his career in the Hamptons, and “was the ‘Chef” at many of the art gallery openings that we attended”. A few months ago, Greg explained, “When we needed to move back to the city, finding the right school was hard. I even thought of on-line schooling. Imagine how my we felt finding PCS educating kids like me, with professions, careers and following their passions. Being able to have a school that is there to advise and support us, and getting a great academic education was amazing. ”
PROFESSIONAL CHILDREN’S SCHOOL will soon be celebrating their 100th anniversary. They provide the middle and High School education for students with the flexibility for them to follow their professional commitments. Some students follow the equestrian circuit, Julliard, visual arts, opera, fashion, classical music, dance, acting, competitive sports, filming, Broadway. There are rock stars, business owners, musicians, actors, a race car driver and of course a culinary professional. See some amazing talents at PCS.
Whether they continue their education at world class universities, Ballet troupes, Masters at Julliard or right into full successful careers, working around schedules that would make most adults cringe, the top PCS inspiring staff and teachers support students professional lives. Professional Children’s School also provides the emotional and decision-making support for young professionals (and their parents) when they must often contend with the pressures of the adult world in addition to the normal pressures of students lives
If you have a professional child and must come to NY for them to follow their professional career Grades 6 to 12 call The PROFESSIONAL CHILDREN’S SCHOOL admissions office

We look forward to see Greg’s new ventures and heard that Culinaria Group will be “popping up’ in Southampton Restaurant this summer, has partnered with Chef Rob McCue creating Oysters and Pearls NYC, serving parties and events throughout NY and the Hamptons with the most inventive and exclusive products and oyster bar service for any occasion and just returned from his 4th year at the 10th Anniversary Food&Wine event at Chef’s Garden in Milan Ohio, in which he won second place, supporting VeggieU.
Greg also supports the Southampton Arts Festival concert event at Wolffer Estate Vineyard August 22nd, benefitting Child Prodigy and Autism Research by Dr. Joanne Ruthsatz in collaboration with Dr. James Watson (Nobel Laureate DNA). Stacyknows that at the last NYC concert 8 yr old piano prodigy Gavin George wowed the audience and this summer SHAF will be presenting another very special young prodigy at their summer concerts in the Hamptons, all to benefit Autism research and the establishment of children’s Master music programs.
