Zumba Flash Mob Takes Over Target In Mt Kisco

When Evan Morrill of the Saw Mill Club asked me to be part of a Zumba Flash Mob how could I refuse.  I love Zumba! Then I asked what’s a flash mob?

What’s Zumba? What’s a Flash Mob?

What is ZUMBA? ZUMBA is a rock’n HOT Latin-inspired total body fitness workout that incorporates Latin and international music and dance movements. The combinations of fast and slow rhythms used to tone and sculpt the body will SURELY have you breaking a sweat!

What is a Flash mob?

A flash mob (or flashmob) is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and sometimes seemingly pointless act for a brief time, then disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment and/or satire. Flash mobs are organized via telecommunications, social media, or viral emails. The term, coined in 2003, is generally not applied to events and performances organized for the purposes of politics (such asprotests), commercial advertisement, publicity stunts that involve public relation firms, or paid professionals.

    i could be wrong, but i think they were originally organized to spread the christmas spirit when there were so many public institutions not allowing religious freedom (not mentioning the word god when talking about christmas in schools etc.). flash mobs started in malls and large department stores singing christmas carols and hymes. they recently have become a new source of advertisement and a great way to hype up any new “thing”. the great thing is zumba is not only a fun new thing, but also a sort of religious experience: people getting together and feeling good about themselves and what they’re doing. Honestly, what was better then the older woman trying to get through the crowd with her cart?
