A beloved part of the community since 1915,

the Bedford Hills Free Library currently serves over 7,000 patrons.

The library houses a large collection of books,

DVDs, CDs, reference materials and print media and provides

access to the extensive resources of the Westchester Library System.

Well known for its innovative children’s programs, the library

also provides computer and Internet access and serves as a

hub for news and information, a community living room where all are welcome.

Patron reliance on the library

has grown dramatically during these difficult economic times.

At the same time, the Bedford Hills Free Library

has suffered significant cuts in funding from the

Town of Bedford.

Despite many economies

, the library must raise $90,000 in 2011 alone to maintain its current level of services.

The library is working to fill this gap, but relies on financial help from private donations.

We thank Mr. Louis-Dreyfus

for opening his family’s private art collection in

support of the Bedford Hills Free Library.
