Cleo’s Wholesome Crunch at The Chappaqua Farmers Market

Posted by Stacy

My favorite breakfast, Fage yogurt with berries and granola, has just been made better with my discovery of Cleo’s Wholesome Crunch granola. The one problem I encounter when assembling my delicious, healthy breakfast is choosing the right granola, which isn’t too fattening or sugary. This dilemma has now vanished with Emily Borgeest’s to-die-for granola. It is organic, gluten free, sugar free (sweetened with agave nectar), has no preservatives, and is a great source of protein.

Emily, 20 years old, will begin her senior year at the Newhouse School of Public Communications in the fall. She is from Chappaqua, New York, and over the past couple of years has become an avid chef and baker. After a year, she has finally perfected her granola recipe and is starting to sell it at the Chappaqua Farmer’s Market. It is a part of her line called “Cleo’s Wholesome Crunch” (Cleo is her middle name). In addition to her granola, she makes scrumptious cookies which are also healthy, and whoever thinks healthy means it tastes bad – Emily will surely prove you wrong with just a bite of her Almond Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, Spelt Chocolate Chip Cookies or her Banana Oat Chocolate Chip cookies. So, it’s official, cookies can be healthy AND delicious.

The granola baking began two years ago when Emily went on a diet after her freshman year of college. She lost 40 pounds by following a strict diet, sticking to healthy, whole foods – no processed or refined foods. One problem, however, was she found herself craving one of her favorite snacks – granola. She encountered the same problem I, and many others do – most granola is delicious but too fattening and sugary!!

Determined to eat granola, which wouldn’t make her gain weight or feel guilty about, she came up with her own recipe. It is a yummy mixture of nuts, seeds, oats, coconut, raisins, banana chips, and is sweetened with agave nectar and stevia. Nothing bad about it – all good, and might I even say, amazing!!

Luckily for me, Emily’s mom is an avid StacyKnows fan and showed my site to Emily. Emily contacted me and gave me samples, and since then, I have been in heaven, enjoying every bite of granola in my Fage, and my guilt-free cookies for dessert.

Stacy Knows Cleo’s Wholesome Crunch is healthy and delicious! You NEED to try it and can find it at the Chappaqua Farmer’s Market on Saturday from 8:00-1:30.
