Books & Cooks – A Literary Feast

Join the Greenburgh Public Library Foundation on May 23rd from 6 to 9 pmfor the second annual Books & Cooks – A Literary Feast.  This evening pairs local chefs and authors in a dinner by-the-bite format which showcases exceptional restaurants and writers. Each participating restaurant has been asked to prepare a selection based on a literary inspiration.

Leading the culinary contributors as Honorary Restaurant Chair is none other than Peter Kelly of Xaviars and Food Network Fame.  Confirmed partners include: X2O Xaviars, Arrosto; Bistro Z; Caffe Azzurri; Captain Lawrence Brewing Company; Coffee Labs Roasters; The Cookery, 42 the Restaurant; Good-Life Gourmet; The Great American BBQ Company; Lighthouse Ice Cream Kompanies; Morton’s, The Steakhouse; Mughal Palace; Prospero Winery; Ruth’s Chris Steak House; SB&G Grill; and The SoNo Baking Company & Cafe.

The event will feature local authors who will be on hand to sign and discuss their books.  They will be led by Honorary Author Chair Ben Cheever (The PlagiaristThe PartisanFamous After Death and The Good Nanny).  He will be joined by Ira Berkowitz (Sinners’ Ball); Kate Buford (Native American Son: The Life and Sporting Legend of Jim Thorpe); David Hajdu (Positively 4th Street: The Lives and Times of Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Mimi Baez Fariña and Richard Fariña); Caitlin Kelly (Malled: My Unintentional Career in Retail);Lee Stringer (Grand Central Winter;, Jenny Rosenstrach (Dinner, A Love Story); and author/illustrator Eric Velasquez (I Matthew Henson).
